Marie Brizard Anisette – 1 L

Anisette from Bordeaux, made to a recipe dating from 1755 — the house of Marie Brizard was among the first to combine green anise with further spices and herbs. Sweeter and more layered than the Spanish anise liqueurs.

In the glass

Green anise with coriander and a floral note. Clearly sweet but not heavy, with a long, cool finish.

Serving

Over ice with water, which turns it milky. Behind the bar, a component of classics such as the Monkey Gland.
