Palo Artesa – 6 × 0.7 L

Palo is a Mallorcan category of spirit with its own protected geographical indication. It is built on cinchona bark and gentian root, with sugar and caramel — which account for the dark colour and the characteristic bitterness.

In the glass

Dark and viscous, with caramel, bitter orange and the astringent note of cinchona. Sweet, but with a clear counterweight.

Serving

On Mallorca it is usually served with soda and plenty of ice as an aperitif, with a slice of lemon. Neat as a digestif after a meal.
