Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey – 0.7 l, 1 l and 3 l

Distilled in Lynchburg since 1866 and filtered drop by drop through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal. This charcoal mellowing is the reason for its softness — and the reason Jack Daniel’s may not be called bourbon, although it is made like one.

In the glass

Vanilla and caramel first, with toasted oak and a fine smokiness behind them. Long, velvety finish with restrained warmth.

Serving

Neat over ice, where the charcoal mellowing shows most clearly. In cocktails it holds its own against cola and ginger ale.
