Cacique Rum – 0.7 L

Rum from Venezuela, where production falls under the protected designation Ron de Venezuela — which prescribes, among other things, a minimum time in oak. The base is molasses from Venezuelan sugarcane.

In the glass

Caramel and vanilla from the cask, with dried fruit and a light woody spice. Smooth and moderately sweet.

Serving

Over ice with a slice of lime, the usual way in Venezuela. Also a base for Cuba Libre and daiquiri.
