What is a Plus Code?
A Plus Code is a short combination of letters and numbers that describes any location in the world with a precision of just a few metres – like a digital house number. It was developed by Google and looks like this:

📱 Shortened Code
4 characters + plus + 2-3 characters, plus the town name. Ideal for sharing.
🌍 Full Code
8 characters + plus + 2-3 characters. Works worldwide without any additional info.

3 ways to find your Plus Code
On your smartphone (Google Maps App)
- Open the Google Maps app on your phone.
- Tap the blue dot (your location) or long-press on the desired spot.
- Swipe up the information bar.
- There you’ll see your Plus Code (e.g. “FVQW+CQLlucmajor”).
- Tap it to copy to clipboard.
On your computer (Google Maps)
- Open Google Maps in your browser (maps.google.com).
- Left-click on the desired point on the map.
- At the bottom of the screen, an info box with coordinates appears.
- Click on it – the detail view opens on the left.
- Next to the blue dots icon you’ll find your Plus Code. Click to copy!
Via the Plus Codes website
- Go to plus.codes in your browser.
- Zoom in on the map to your location.
- Click on the exact point.
- The full Plus Code is displayed immediately.
- Copy it and you’re done!
